Musical Monday

Participating in Musical Mondays Linky Party

Exactly- Amy Steinberg
I so love this song but the line "when I sing you can feel it, when I cry you can heal it, when I speak love you can be the words I speak." is my favorite. This song reminds me that all things happen for a reason. Where I am is simply one state of being and I won't ever have it again so if I'm constantly wanting more, seeking more, working for more then I have missed the moment in which I actually am.

What's in the works?

I haven't posted about my projects in awhile so let's see what's going on lately. Mostly I've been working on my Steampunk stuff and my craft has been a little neglected. But I have worked a bit on my Scrapbook Spellbook. Which I'm going to make a Steampunk one of that too. Aahh, silly. But fun. However the witchy ones I'm doing completely by hand whereas the steampunk one will be done mostly on the computer. Doing each of these pages by hand takes forever! But there is no denying that it will be completely amazing! (if I do say so myself)

Other than that we have been working on our website and just trying to find a new groove after the closing of the shop. We started doing the flea market on the weekends, Travis really likes it... I'm... not so convinced yet but we will see. It seems difficult to connect with people, get people to find us. And we really want to start have an open forum Witchy day at the house where people can just come get to know each other, trade their wares or buy what they need.

I've also just been working on getting stuff photographed to put up on etsy and our website, btw url is www.serenityfashionsandlifestyles.com

Our First Give Away!

doTERRA is the best company I have ever found for essential oils. They are the purest oils on the market. As my oil collection grew towards doTERRA products I started comparing them to my essential oils from other brands and was shocked at the difference. I could smell, see and feel the difference in quality. I believe that part of walking a path of the wise is learning to care for our bodies aided by nature. Amazing plants and herbs like lavender are such a wonderful gift from our Mother Earth and it is foolish to not tap into the this incredible bounty.

In this Give Away one lucky someone will be gifted a free bottle of lavender essential oil and a bottle of coconut oil to use as a base. A $56 value. There are so many ways to enter to win be sure to check them all out and keep up with Earth Craft!

Musical Monday

She's locked up with a spinning wheel
She can't recall what it was like to feel
She says, "This room's gonna be my grave
And there's no one who can save me,"
She sits down to her colored thread
She knows lovers waking up in their beds
She says, "How long can I live this way
Is there no one I can pay to let me go
'Cause I'm half sick of shadows
I want to see the sky
Everyone else can watch as the sun goes down
So why can't I

And it's raining
And the stars are falling from the sky
And the wind
And the wind I know it's cold
I've been waiting
For the day I will surely die
And it's here
And it's here for I've been told
That I'll die before I'm old
And the wind I know it's cold..."

She looks up to the mirrored glass
She sees a handsome horse and rider pass
She says, "That man's gonna be my death
'Cause he's all I ever wanted in my life
And I know he doesn't know my name
And that all the girls are all the same to him
But still I've got to get out of this place
'Cause I don't think I can face another night
Where I'm half sick of shadows
And I can't see the sky
Everyone else can watch as the tide comes in
So why can't I

And it's raining
And the stars are falling from the sky
And the wind
And the wind I know it's cold
I've been waiting
For the day I will surely die
And it's here
And it's here for I've been told
That I'll die before I'm old
And the wind I know it's cold..."

But there's willow trees
And little breezes, waves, and walls, and flowers
And there's moonlight every single night
As I'm locked in these towers
So I'll meet my death
But with my last breath I'll sing to him my love
And he'll see my face in another place,"
And with that the glass above

Cracked into a million bits
And she cried out, "So the story fits
But then I could have guessed it all along
'Cause now some drama queen is gonna write a song for me,"
She went down to her little boat
And she broke the chains and began to float away
And as the blood froze in her veins she said,
"Well then that explains a thing or two
'Cause I know I'm the cursed one
I know I'm meant to die
Everyone else can watch as their dreams untie
So why can't I

And it's raining
And the stars are falling from the sky
And the wind
And the wind I know it's cold
I've been waiting
For the day I will surely die
And it's here
And it's here
And it's here..
And it's here, it's finally here!"

And it's raining
And the stars are falling from the sky
And the wind
And the wind I know it's cold
I've been waiting
For the day I will surely die
And it's here
And it's here for I've been told
That I'll die before I'm old
And the wind I know it's cold..."

The Lady of Shalott is one of my favorite stories and I love this rendition of it by miss Emilie Autumn. I saw a great show done by Emilie in Salt Lake City. Her and her girls are adorable, talented and a lot of fun.

Merry Meet Indeed!

We met the most wonderful woman at the Flea Market yesterday. She noticed the soaps that we sell from KleoKatt (btw here is a link to KleoKatt's blog that is seriously awesome! http://kleokatt.blogspot.com/ ) So she recognized her and started talking to us about the other things we were selling. She wore a Goddess pendant and so we started talking about it. She lite up like a light and so did I! She works a farm and sells at the market. And after some wonderful conversation she went on to her booth. But as she was leaving she swung back to us and gave us this gigantic bag of home grown eggplants, tons of different peppers and eggs! It was such a blessing to us. Mind, body and spirit. Of course it will feed our bodies some amazing, healthy food and energy but more than that I have felt isolated by the culture and people in the south recently. I have trouble finding people who are of similar mindset in manners, caring for others, community, healthy eating, living green. And so meeting this amazing woman that so happily gave to us and so easily embraced us was such a joy. You have fed my heart and soul today!

Here are some real, farm fresh eggs compared to a store bought, factory farm egg. What do you put in your body?
